I had this idea for a hermity alter kindred elf guy. Somebody who watches a border or road by the forest, alone, and doesn't bother most travelers, but if anyone takes something or does anything to the forest he steals something from them he considers to be of equal value. I thought that he'd be sorta funny, sorta BA, and somewhat klepto.
I had another idea for a dwarf lord/hero who had been captured by elves or somebody and had his beard (not the beard!) shaved off. Well, his men rescued him but he hung his head in beardless shame. So his devoted unit cut off their own beards so that he could still lead them and keep his honor. Then in games they'd be these raging front-line troops.
I have not yet used either of these ideas. The beard one would be real hard.
