Mini Exchange and Painting Contest

Would anybody be interested in a miniatures exchange coupled with a painting contest?

You've all seen mini exchanges before, I would wager. You register with a few choices for a mini you would like to get. Then we randomly assign painters to each other. Painters pick up one of the models requested, paint it, and we'll present them to the other on a given date.

My concept is to add a painting contest to the scheme. We will have two categories to the painting contest: Exchanged minis, and general entry. The best painted mini being given away will win the painter a prize (in addition to the model they receive from someone else.)

The general entry contest will have two categories: Best painted mini (which will not be exchanged) and the best painted unit. Entries will be open to any figures purchased in the store, from any game system.

I'm thinking I'll make assignments by March 15, with April 24th as exchange day and contest judging. We'll have a painting contest Apr 24 anyway, but I thought a mini exchange would be a cool addition. What do you guys think?

I'll start it off. I would be interested in any of the following, in no particular order of preference:

- Epic Kaya from Circle Orboros, Hordes
- Mortenebra, Cryx, Warmachine
- Seamus and/or any part of his crew, Malifaux, Resurrectionists
- Lt. Rat, Soviet Hero, Flames of War
- Commander Farsight, Tau Commander, Warhammer 40K
- Skrag, Ogre Lord, Warhammer Fantasy
- Teclis, High Elf Lord, Warhammer Fantasy

Two to hold the pieces, one for the glue and for the zipkicker..

Well, we're doing it, so sign up! Post the models you want here.

Gentlesamurai, it doesn't work that way. You post the models *you* would like to get. Someone will be assigned as your model-maker, and they pick from your list.

In the meantime, you are also assigned a person. Pick a model from your recipient's list, paint it, and then present it.

I haven't seen any list that doesn't include a sub-$20 model, though. I'm not going to tell people they can't go over that limit if they want to try painting something.
